H. MOSER & CIE. – SWISS ALP WATCH Minute Retrograde "Grand Feu" Enamel Edition

H. MOSER & CIE.SWISS ALP WATCH Minute Retrograde White Gold "Grand Feu" Enamel Limited Edition

THE SWISS ALP WATCH MINUTE RETROGRADE:
THE H. MOSER & CIE. TIMEPIECE WITH AN HAUTLENCE SURPRISE

H. Moser & Cie. likes to surprise... often in the most unexpected of places. The Swiss Alp Watch Minute Retrograde is a case in point. Pairing the rectangular case of its Swiss Alp Watch with the highly technical movement from its sister brand HAUTLENCE, H. Moser & Cie. has created a delightful surprise which combines tradition with modernity. This unique approach faithfully employs classic Haute Horlogerie techniques whilst incorporating the ultimate in technological movements. A striking contrast in a mesmerisingly beautiful watch that is compelling from every angle.

The Swiss Alp Watch stands against the tide of smart watches, as a symbol of traditional Swiss watchmaking. The Swiss Alp Watch Minute Retrograde features all the attributes one would expect in a timepiece made in the Haute Horlogerie tradition: the piece features a minute dial created in "Grand Feu" enamel and a flame-blued retrograde hand. Its rectangular case is spectacular with its rounded corners, curved sapphire crystal on its edges, and three 3D sapphire crystals adorning the top and sides.

The exquisite curved crystal case sets off the HAUTLENCE HL2.0 calibre to stunning effect. The hourly rotation of the regulating organ on the mobile form movement can be admired through the large opening. The escapement and hairspring are produced in-house by Precision Engineering AG, a sister company of H. Moser & Cie. and HAUTLENCE.

On this jumping hours model, the hours are shown in Roman numerals — as is the tradition — and are driven by a chain system comprising 12 hinged links. Occurring every 60 minutes, the jump is not instantaneous, taking place over 3 to 4 seconds, in a controlled way to ensure the components are protected from shocks, thanks to the mechanism's integrated speed regulator. This smooth rotation, with no shock or loss of power, means that the wearer can admire the beauty of the movement at work.

Equipped with two barrels, the HL2.0 automatic calibre on the Swiss Alp Watch Minute Retrograde guarantees a 45-hour power reserve, displayed on an indicator at 6 o'clock. H. Moser & Cie. chose alligator leather for the strap, which has a matte look on this model thanks to its carbon-effect finish. The timepiece comes with a second strap, in beige kudu leather with a green leather lining – a true hallmark of H. Moser & Cie. Each variant has a classic look, with a dynamic, modern touch which really sets it apart.

H. Moser & Cie. and HAUTLENCE belong to MELB Holding, an independent family group based in Switzerland. This affiliation makes possible a series of collaborations, proving that there is strength in numbers. The Swiss Alp Watch Minute Retrograde is the second product on which the two companies have cooperated.

In October 2015, HAUTLENCE led the way by launching the Tourbillon 01, a timepiece from the Atelier collection equipped with the HMC 802 Manufacture calibre from H. Moser & Cie.

The huge success of these two partnerships is largely due to the way in which the identity and personality of each Manufacture is respected, which is no small achievement.

-----------
HAUTLENCE
Ever since its foundation in 2004, HAUTLENCE has been dedicated to bringing a new dynamic into the art of
watchmaking, thus gaining the recognition of watch collectors and connoisseurs the world over. The brand has
a portfolio of four calibres designed and manufactured in-house and relies on external partners for the
movements of certain collections. HAUTLENCE launched the HL calibre in 2005, followed in 2009 by the
HLQ calibre, with the brand’s third calibre, the HLC, hot on its heels in 2010. The following year saw the
introduction of the high-flying HL2.0 calibre in a variety of different versions. Since 2012, HAUTLENCE has
enjoyed the support of MELB Holding, which has made its experience and network accessible to the brand
with the aim of developing effective synergies between HAUTLENCE and the group as a whole.
Like its name, an anagram of the brand’s hometown of Neuchâtel, HAUTLENCE is renowned for turning
things upside down. The brand has challenged the boundaries of traditional watchmaking designs by drawing on
its architecturally-inspired roots and uniting them with innovative mechanical solutions borrowed from other
industrial worlds. Acutely aware of the two essential dimensions of time and space, HAUTLENCE is driven to
design timepieces with original lines and multi-level dial constructions that provide incredible depth.
Its Gentlemen Rebels approach to watchmaking is perfectly embodied in its choice of brand ambassador, Eric
Cantona, and its challenging communication message "CROSS THE LINE".

ORIS – Big Crown ProPilot Date GMT, Small Second

ORISBig Crown ProPilot Date GMT, Small Second steel 45mm

 Designed for the high life
Oris’s Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second gets a stylish update

Oris’s highly acclaimed collection of innovative pilot’s watches has grown in recent years to include some of the most iconic watches the genre has to offer. That collection is now joined by the Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second, an elegant, stylish take on Oris’s classic pilot’s watch design. The Big Crown ProPilot was introduced in 2014 as a practical pilot’s watch designed for life in the cockpit, but it has always had genuine crossover appeal. While the aviation community has embraced it, it’s also worn by stylish men and women who appreciate its balanced design, quality finish and confident aesthetic.

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second is an extension of this approach, designed both for pilots and also style-conscious international travellers. It has a round steel case, oversized Arabic numerals (designed specifically for this watch), an oversized crown, and an elegant, clearly legible dial. The new Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second also oozes contemporary style. Its anthracite, sunray pattern dial and polished top ring give it a debonair, louche quality that will appeal as much to suited gentlemen as to airmen wearing a flight suit.

Since launch two years ago, the Big Crown ProPilot has become one of the most recognisable lines in the Oris collection. Innovative pieces such as the Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter – the world’s first automatic mechanical watch with a mechanical altimeter – have put the ProPilot on the map and won it the respect of the watchmaking and professional pilot communities.

The collection’s aviation-inspired features include a coin-edged bezel, designed to mirror the geometry of a jet-engine turbine, and the oversized crown, a feature first introduced into watches during the early years of flight and designed so gloved airmen could still operate their watches.

Oris only makes mechanical watches. The new Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second is powered by a Swiss Made mechanical movement, in this case the Oris Cal 748 automatic. This provides it with a running seconds at 9 o’clock, a second 24-hour time zone indicated by an airplane-shaped pointer hand, and a big date at 3 o’clock.

Its 45mm stainless steel case comes on either a dark brown and grey leather strap or a choice of black, grey or olive textile straps with a folding clasp inspired by the design of passenger airline seatbelt buckles; or on a stainless steel bracelet.

The Oris Big Crown ProPilot GMT, Small Second gives Oris’s pilot’s watch collection a stylish edge that will appeal to design-conscious watch buyers. It will be available from December, priced CHF 2,200 on a strap or CHF 2,400 on a metal bracelet.
